ASITSME advances innovation, excellence, and access at all levels of education for the ITSM profession.
Our Goals
ASITSME (the Society) recognizes the term “IT service management (ITSM) education” to encompass the full academic spectrum of instruction, research, scholarship, practice, and service. The Society also has an enduring commitment to continuous improvement. In the context of the above two statements, the Society pursues the following goals:
- Education – The Society will advance education of students in the practice and application of ITSM across a wide variety of educational institutions.
- Research – The Society will support research in ITSM topics not only to advance the ITSM profession, but also develop lines of research for ITSM faculty to pursue.
- Collaboration – The Society will foster collaboration among students, professionals, and industry leaders to advance the ITSM profession.
- Innovation – The Society will advance the development of innovative approaches and solutions to ITSM education
Membership
The Society has four different types of members:
- Institutional Members, open to higher educational institutions and teaching organization educating and training ITSM students and professionals in the United Stated.
- Individual Members, open to persons committed to the education of ITSM professionals, including faculty and staff of higher education institutions.
- Associate Members, open to professional and student organizations and other institutions involved in activities, or sharing responsibilities, for the education of ITSM professionals.
- Industry Members, open to companies employing ITSM professionals.
